Brief Demo Time #
We want to pick up from last week’s demo, quickly showing how you will structure your final projects:
- Create three separate folders/index pages for your entries, instead of sibling HTML files—
article-name/index.html
- Make a landing page
index.html
in the project root, adding aul
with links to the entries on the landing page - Re-link your subpages to the shared
../assets/common.css
- Add a shared navigation (home, previous, next) on the entries
- Edit the navigation, updating per-page instances to your order
- Link to a page-specific CSS file with a relative path
Project 3 Check-Ins #
We’ll spend the bulk of class today looking through your initial third project sketching. We’ll break up into groups again for this, in the corners:
Group 1
Ziwei, Ishani, Iris, Vee, Rice, Irene, Rayana
Group 2
Yuting, Amely, Hye Lynn, Inji, Mia, Amy, Emma
Group 3
Bee, Shambhavi, Opal, Jonathan, Jenny, Huijie, Bhakti
Group 4
Jolyn, Nadia, Jennifer, Yaxuan, Mika, Hannah, Devansh
- Our goal is that you’ll each see one instructor, one alumn
- We’ll shoot for 5 minutes with each person
- Give us very quick background and then right into the browser!
- Have your work up locally in Dev Mode, at
375
- Be prepared to quickly comment/switch between your direction CSS files
- If you want to write feedback down (never a bad idea)—Slack yourself from a classmate’s comp while we use yours to demo!
- If we have time we can stay a bit longer for Second Opinions
For Next Week #
-
You’ll be moving into the next phase of your Binding projects. Narrow your design direction and build it out across all your pages—then start to flesh it out across the breakpoints:
-
As noted on the project page, we also want you to weigh in on your former partner’s work in a GitHub Issue! The more thorough, the
better— for both of you.Share your repo links with each other on Slack. It might be more useful to do this after your former partner has put in some work—so communicate/
coordinate around that. -
When you are ready, send us your links as usual:
